Tina Ramsbottom – Triathlete
Ed delivered everything I wanted and more from a results perspective. When I first came to him, I had suffered an injury and lost confidence in my body. Having a background of miliatry fitness for the last 6 years as well as participating in triathlons and duathlons previously and my partner being manager of Clapham BMF, I did think I knew what I was doing already, but Ed really helped me find new ways to approach fitness whilst I couldn’t do my usual workouts. The first thing to mention is, Ed took my mind off my injury completely and made me feel no fear of hurting myself again – which was crucial for me to progress. Alot of this was in my mind and he really knows how to motivate: he knew just how far to push me (fairly bloody far!! and at times I felt sick!! but I always managed it) as he is a brilliant judge of a person’s capabilities. He took me out of my comfort zone with inspiring and innovative routes to work around my needs. He spends so much time and focus on you as a person you really benefit from the attention and his expertise means not one second is wasted and the results came super fast.
He combined cross fit training foundation and specific exercises for my needs, with trigger point therapy on my injury as well as encouraging me to hit some personal goals – which I can happily state Ed made me smash in record time.
It goes without saying Ed is professional and efficient but more than that, he is someone who really makes things happen, being around him always leaves you ready to crack on with all aspects of your life and believe you can “do stuff”. On top of all this he is also a truly friendly, approachable easy going guy – despite being a jiu-jitsu ninja! – it has been really lovely to talk to him about baby stuff (I had my first 9 months ago and his wife is expecting) in between workouts as he lets me catch my breath!
Karen Dalby – Triathlete and Crossfit athlete
I would highly recommend training with Ed to anyone who is not afraid of a bit of hard work and wants to get some serious results. I have trained with Ed for the past 6 months and made a lot of progress, in particular his knowledge and expertise has helped me significantly with my Olympic lifting technique. Ed also recently helped me get through 3 qualifying events, (and go on to qualify!) for the London Throwdown, London’s first major Crossfit Competition. In which only the top 60 qualify. As well as pushing me to my limits and getting me performing at my best, Ed offers a lot of constructive criticism and is encouraging and highly motivating, and I look forward to continuing to train with him in the future.
Liam Delaney – Rugby Player and Jiu Jitsu Fighter
I joined Ed’s TUFF classes to increase my strength and conditioning primarily for Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, but also for playing rugby and general fitness. Being a high level athlete himself, Ed has a wealth of personal experience in strength and conditioning which is evident in the training he gives, especially the way he can tailor each workout to a specific need or to achieve a specific result. After just one session with Ed I could see that his TUFF classes would be an invaluable tool in my Braziliain Jiu Jitsu development and I would thoroughly recommend Ed to anyone.
Rosalee Mason – Great Britain International and Commonwealth Medalist
“….From the very first introductory session with Ed Brown, I knew it would be an exciting and worthwhile journey, towards the transformation of my body and thus performance. After highlighting my weak and somewhat neglected areas, within weeks It was evident how Ed’s experience and knowledge significantly improved my basketball performance…..”
My friend and I came to Ed with some very specific training goals in mind: we were time poor and wanted to achieve maximum results in as little as time but still wanted to learn the proper technique behind crossfit and Functional Fitness. Ed put together a programme for us which we did for ten weeks at a time and venue of our choosing (Wandsworth Common, 6.15am) which was perfect. Most of the exercises we did I had never done before which kept the classes interesting. Almost straight away I noticed improvements in the way I was performing in my other sports. I could not recommend Ed highly enough for someone who wants something more than just a personal trainer!
Allen Esp – Graphic Designer
I started training with Ed after a long period out injured.
Ed was very accurate in his assessment of my capabilities and was able to get me training up to my limits without going beyond them which was vital in rebuilding my confidence as well as my strength.
Working with Ed I’ve been able to achieve the goals I had when I …initially started training with him. Not only does he have the knowledge and the equipment to get the job done right but he really does make training fun, hard work but fun, which is really important for me.
I’m looking forward to building up more strength and losing more weight this year.

Personal training with a side of dating advice…what more could a girl want! Ed Brown ROCKS!I started training with Ed in January this year. Having spent years wasting money on gym memberships and equipment I didn’t use I decided a personal trainer was the way to go and it has been the best decision I have ever made.
Ed is great at motivating, challenging and encouraging me. He keeps my routine fresh and interesting so I never get bored. I hadn’t even heard of Kettlebells or Bulgarian Bags but now I can’t imagine working out without them!I’ve told him that I WILL be his success story of the year and with his continued help and support I know I’ll reach my goals!
John Broster – Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fighter
I contacted Ed after training with him in BJJ and hearing about his personal training. We arranged a consultation and Ed helped me realise my aims and goals and clarified exactly what I wanted to achieve.
We speedily arranged our first training session which far exceeded my expectations. Ed not only provides all the relevant equipment which is needed to make me a stronger and fitter grappler, he provides the motivation needed to push me to the next level all the doing it in a fun and enjoyable fashion.
All in all Ed Brown Functional Fitness is a first class service, which I would thoroughly recommend to anyone who wishes to push their sporting performance and achievements to championship level.
